Between book bans, SEL bans, and school shootings, our kids have dealt with a lot. Here’s why one teacher and parent thinks they’re still going to do just fine.

In the chaos of middle school today, how do we create a community of kids who care about themselves, and others, and their education?

What most people hear about the current reality of middle school is that it’s a state of chaos. The libraries and curriculum are full of pornography. The teachers are indoctrinating kids to hate themselves, and making them gay. Students don’t know how to socialize, or focus, or care. Why can’t we just get back to what education is supposed to be about instead of filling it with nonsense?

I’ve been teaching middle school for more than twenty years, and I’m the parent of tween and teen daughters. That means I’m at the center of this chaos, and I hate nonsense, too…
